Units:
The Curriculum and Programs Department comprises three specialized units that work in an integrated manner to implement the technical and organizational tasks related to developing, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of program and course outcomes.
First, the Curriculum Unit:
This unit is responsible for designing and developing the general structures of study plans across various academic programs. Its tasks include:
1. Developing and updating general curriculum frameworks in accordance with approved academic policies and standards.
2. Coordinating with colleges to prepare or modify study plans for new or existing programs.
3. Preparing standardized guides and templates related to designing and developing study plans.
4. Reviewing curriculum components to ensure their consistency with the intended learning outcomes.
Second, the General Courses Unit:
This unit is responsible for monitoring the development and updating of common general courses across all academic programs. Its tasks include:
1. Organizing and updating the descriptions of general courses (such as Communication Skills, Arabic Language, Islamic Culture, etc.).
2. Reviewing the objectives and educational content of general courses to ensure their integration with the various disciplines.
3. Coordinating with colleges and faculty members to update courses in accordance with modern educational trends.
4. Contributing to the development of students' general skills through the content of these courses.
Third, the Comprehensive Review Unit:
This unit is responsible for a comprehensive review of programs and study plans, and assessing their compliance with academic accreditation and quality requirements. Its tasks include:
1. Conducting academic audits of programs and plans based on specific performance indicators.
2. Preparing analytical reports on the strengths and opportunities for improvement in study plans.
3. Reviewing the alignment of plans with the National Qualifications Framework and the requirements of accreditation bodies.
4. Supporting colleges in preparing program files for academic accreditation or internal development purposes.
